Make Up Play

As posted earlier, Grandma came up this weekend.

The girls and Little Danny love playing with Grandma and love playing with each other.

They also love playing with make up. I thought they kinda looked like monsters--especially Mallory.

Race Day

We talk, eat together, celebrate birthdays together, drink together, work out together, and race together. What else are friends for?????

Lealane had an impressive time: 26 minutes, I ran at my usual slow pace, and Krystial pushed Bryce.

Next possible race: 5K in Blackshear on 3/6 and the much dreaded 15K on March 13. As I said before, I am already tasting the vomit.

J'ville Trip

Mallory's eye exam took forever but her eyes have been checked. Not much change, lazy eye has gotten better but glasses are still needed. We got a new script so we will go shopping for some new glasses locally.

No, Daniel didn't take us out to eat nor did he allow us to shop long. We got to dash into Old Navy for about 15 minutes.

Mom is coming this weekend. Mallory is excited. I am planning on running a race with Lealane and Krystial on St. Simon's Island. I am a firm believer that "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." Racing is torture to me and I don't enjoy it. That being said, I am DREADING the 15K that I am committed to on March 13.

Hamilton's Going to Jacksonville

I will be picking up Mallory tomorrow at around 11:30. She is scheduled to be seen by Nemours eye clinic. Her appointment is at 2 but I'm hoping Daniel will take us out to eat and maybe to do a little shopping afterward. If he does, we won't be back until late.

This appointment is a follow up to her "lazy eye." They will also perform an annual eye exam so we may get new eye glasses! Nothing major should happen so don't hold your breath!

p.s. Grandma you shouldn't be surprised about the blanket. It is Mal's favorite and is used nearly every night. When Kirsten spends the night, she always has hers too.

Blah Blah and Monday

Ugh, I hate Mondays. This morning the alarm clock went off and Mallory said, "yay mommy, time to get up." I promise she said, "yay." How can anyone cheer when the alarm goes off at 6:15 am?

Long days do not bother Mallory. She went to school, tutoring, and played with Nana and Pappy. She was going strong till about 30 minutes ago. I really wished I had her energy.

We didn't finish our puzzle. Mallory curled up into the recliner with her favorite blanket!

I hope the blanket looks familiar!

A Work In Progress

Today Mallory started working on this 50 piece puzzle. It is a picture of "Littlest Pet Shop." We worked on it two different times today and should finish tomorrow.

Uneventul Saturday

Today started a little earlier than usual. Mallory was awake before Daniel got out of bed. I think she was up around 5:45. She requested pizza (from Friday night --Pizza Hut) at this ungodly hour. I guess she ate and at around 6:30am I made her come back to bed. I think she got up around 7:45 and I stayed in bed till 8:20 am.

We of course went to Jerry J's. She requested something different, "crumbled sausage inside a bowl of grits." I think this is the result of eating breakfast with Daniel last week. Its called a breakfast bowl. She ate fairly well. We went to the library and to one of Mallory's favorite stores--Dollar General.

We mopped the floors, put a few things away and folded laundry. Daniel came home and took her to his parents' house. They stayed there for several hours. While they were gone, I ran on my treadmill, read, and basically did nothing substantial.

It has been a good day. Tomorrow: church, lunch with the fam, and a weight lifting workout!

Congrats to Lealane and Krystial. They ran a 5k today and accomplished impressive times.

Good News

My USB cord arrived a couple of days ago. The new plan: to keep it in my camera bag.

Mallory made S's on 2 different word lists. The word lists are composed of words that she has to decode. This is a big improvement!

This photo was taken as we were leaving for our Valentine's dinner.

Really need this.

Question

Okay, this morning I carefully read the note from the school regarding Mallory's ADHD accommodations. The proposed meeting date is this Friday at noon. Due to work obligations, I am unable to attend. I called the responsible party and explained. I also told her that I will be in Jacksonville, Fl on 2/24 and out of town Thursday on 2/25. She agreed to call me back with a new time and date. The new time and date: Wednesday 2/24 at 4:00. Obviously I cannot make this appointment either--as I previously stated.

Remember I have very strong feelings toward these people.

Question: Wouldn't it be hilarious to let them wait for me on Wednesday and then when they call to ask if I'm coming say, "remember, I'm not in town." Petty I know and not helpful but it would serve them right!!!! Afterall, these people are supposedly educated. You would think they were capable of listening.

Tuesday

Well today was okay. I had 1 unseen client--their fault not mine.

My sunglasses have arrived ( I had to send them off to be repaired).

Mallory did well at school today. I was dreading her return but she managed to do all of her classwork and she did good on her counting homework. In fact, she did the best she has ever done. Really pleased, we may pass kindergarten!

A note was sent home. They are FINALLY ready to schedule the meeting regarding her ADHD accommodations.

I guess the day could have been worse. Hope your day was good.

Another Work Week....

Tomorrow is the start of another work week for us. I am dreading it because I already know that I will be super busy! I think I should start playing the odds and buy a lottery ticket upon occasion.

Mallory will be going to daycare tomorrow because of the school holiday--dreading this too!

Valentine Treat

Yesterday, Daniel and Mallory surprised me at work. They brought me some white roses mixed with some type of purple flowers. They were really pretty and I was truly surprised!

Today Mallory and I had manicures and our toes polished. We chose the same color: purple. I wished you could have seen Mallory. She sat in the pedi chair as an adult with a serious look on her face--as if she was accustomed to such treatment!

Daniel took us out to eat tonight. We ate at Captain Joe's (mom's fav restaurant). As usual, the food was good. Mallory spilled her full cup of sprite, wanted to make a million trips to the salad/dessert bar, and peeled the batter off of the onion rings.

Tomorrow church and Sunday dinner with Daniel's family. See, the fun really doesn't end!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Let It Snow

Mallory danced in the snow and Daniel has been outside by a fire for hours!

All of my weekend cleaning is done--except for the laundry. Everyone knows laundry doesn't count. You can always hide it in the closet and it will nearly be put away!

Not Much

The Hamilton house has been slow. Mallory didn't have school today and won't tomorrow or Monday.

The dog continues to $hit everywhere and chew cords. Her recent destruction: my mp3 player charger.

Work has been very busy.

I haven't been able to get in a good workout this week because I have been so busy.

Mallory's new favorite restaurant: Zaxby's. She always requests chicken fingers, french fries and "dressing."

I really hope I get some rest and relaxation this weekend.

Tomorrow I return to the chiropractor. My back feels fine but my neck still feels stiff.

The big news: It is supposed to snow tomorrow. Daniel is really excited and he has Mallory excited to.

Most of you have already heard, Captain Phil Harris has passed away. He was the captain of the Cornelia Marie on the Deadliest Catch, which is one of my favorite shows (listen to the theme song).

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Did IT

Yep, I ordered my new USB cable and it should be here in about a week. It was actually cheaper than I anticipated. It was less than $15 and this price includes shipping!

The trip to the chiropractor went well. My neck is cracked and my back and hips are realigned. I go back on Friday for a follow up. I was really nervous and the "popping" sounds made me more nervous.

Just wanted to let you know that I made chicken and dumplings tonight. It was really good and I hope everyone has tried the bacon flavored popcorn.

Mallory is out of school on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I guess she will spend Thursday and Monday at daycare, which will cost me $40. Truly, no one benefits from teacher furlough days!

Weekend at the Hamilton's

All items on the checklist were completed, except one. Nikon workers only work Monday-Friday--go figure. I cannot believe that they were not sitting around waiting for my call! Don't worry, I have the phone number and user guide in my purse. I intend to order a new cord tomorrow as soon as I get to work.

Tomorrow I will be going to the chiropractor. Last week, when I had my massage, the massage therapist asked if I had frequent headaches. I do but have always contributed them to stress and exhaustion. She said she could feel a vertebrae out of place and believes this is why I have so many headaches. She suggested I see a chiropractor so I am.

Mallory started tutoring last week. The tutor was impressed with Mallory's reading ability and I think will focus on math concepts--one on one correspondence.

Bacon flavored popcorn is the best! I highly recommend it. To make: use bacon grease to pop seeds on the stove top.

Tomorrow's Agenda

1) Breakfast at Jerry J's
2) Wal-Mart to buy Valentine cards and candy (school Valentine party)
3) Library
4) birthday party--Sam, dad's little boy
5) Work out
6) Mop
7) Order new camera cord from Nikon

Right now: reading, drinking beer and eating bacon flavored popcorn. Everyone else is in bed so I am enjoying some peace.

My Life....what could possibly happen next?

For starters:

1) The dog has once again chewed my camera cord--yep my NEW camera cord.

2) For the past week, Mallory has refused to do classwork. She has missed recess time and tonight didn't go to gymnastics.

3) Found out this week that one of Mallory's school teachers is married to a very close family friend. How could I not know this???????

4) Received bill for the 4 day vacay I took at Satilla Regional Medical Center.

5) Need to rest and relax but the weekend is already filling up.

Not sure what to do about the camera cord. Probably should get rid of the dog though.

Homemade Treat

On Saturday we decided to make our own pizza--instead of ordering out.

As usual, Mallory was a big help. She was also caught eating our pizza toppings!

Mallory's Church Outfit

Just wanted to share a picture of Mallory. She wore this outfit to church on Sunday. I thought it was super cute so I took a couple of pictures. It was her idea to add the scarf and mittens. Of course, she had to have her purse with her cell phone inside.

Chuck E Cheese Fun

While in Savannah, we stopped at Chuck E Cheese.
We all played games and earned tickets. I am proud to say that we walked out with only spending $10. We spent $5 on tokens and the other $5 was for cotton candy and a drink.

Not bad, I'm sure this is a record, right mom?

The Big Fat Cow

Who remembers Duchess? Duchess was
our first cocker and we loved her so much. We adopted her and had her for about 3 years.

When Mallory was about 1 1/2-2 years old, Duchess moved out. She moved in with a neighbor that lives two houses down. Obviously they have taken great care of her. Duchess is about 14 years old and deaf. She is also FAT! We saw her on Halloween and I swear she is heavier.

She really reminded me of a manatee, a sea cow. She is completely round.

Mallory's doctor's appointment went very well. We couldn't have asked for better results. Both ears have healed well. We have been reduced to annual visits to monitor her hearing. We are celebrating tomorrow by going swimming at the YMCA.

After swimming we both have nail appointments. Daniel will pick Mallory up and I will stay to have my massage! I can't wait.

We will probably skip our Saturday trip to Jerry J's. We ate there this morning and Daniel was our special guest.

I also saw a certain person at Jerry J's this morning. She didn't see me and I didn't see her until she was leaving. Perhaps we can catch up soon????

Cousins Reunite

While in Atlanta, I met up with my older
cousin, Dan, and his son Matthew. I haven't seen Dan since 2005 and I had never met Matthew before. We enjoyed a dinner together and discussed all of the family business.

Tomorrow we are going to Savannah for Mallory's last post op appointment. She will have another hearing exam and a simple check up. This appointment was originally scheduled for 12/22 but as you recall, I was in the hospital that day.

I have hired a tutor for Mallory. Mallory will receive 2 thirty minute sessions per week. I was hoping for 3 but was only offered 2. The tutor is a reading specialist at another local elementary school and she is (or was, I can't remember) the Student Support Team Coordinator as well as the RTI director of the school. She seems very experienced and qualified. Keep your fingers crossed, pray, send good vibes, etc.!

I'm Back

Well I survived my Atlanta training--barely. We had terrible weather on Sunday but I managed to drive us to safety. The training itself was boring and I didn't learn a thing. The end result: my program can bill medicaid for my services!!!

I took a couple of pictures but my camera batteries are dead. I will leave you with 2 snippets regarding the next posts.

1) guess which cousin I caught up with? He asked about the Yeagers.
2) On Saturday we had an extra visitor (besides Daniel's dad and step mom). Here is a hint: I thought she looked like a cow!
