Nearly every night Mallory and Daniel go outside. Tonight Mallory surprised me with this flower. She picked it from one of our rose bushes.

Back to the Classics: My Grandma and Great Grandma

The first picture is older than the second. The grown ups are the same in each. Amazing how time flies and beauty remains the same!
Can you find me? Hint: I'm the cute one.
I know my Grandma Yeager made mine and Kristy's dresses in the first picture. She probably made mine in the second one too.
My Great Grandmother passed away but I still have all of the letters that she has ever written me!

My Day Off
Today was Confederate Memorial Day. The state of GA celebrated by allowing all of its employees off. I certainly enjoyed my day!
As usual, I got Mal ready for school and then drove her. However, instead of going to work, I went home and went back to bed. I slept for about an hour, a little longer, I think. Eventually I got up, played on the computer and ate a grilled cheese sandwich. I started reading a "fluff" book and at about noon, I jumped on my treadmill. I ran 1.5 miles with moderate knee pain, which is why it was a short run. I later went to the YMCA, did an upper body workout and finished the session with a 30 minute swim lesson.
Daniel brought Mallory to the Y. We swam for about an hour. When we got into the car, she said, "I'm starving. I really need a happy meal." How could I argue? I bought her a happy meal from Wendy's.
We went home and I cooked spaghetti for Daniel and Mallory. I had a salad and a lean pocket. Now I am tired, from swimming no doubt, and I am ready for everyone to go to bed.
I need to rest up, I return to work tomorrow!

Mallory Goes for a Dip

Today, after our lunch with Daniel's family, Mallory took a dip in their pool. Although the day was warm, the water was too cold for adults. Luckily there were a pair of swimmies. Everyone enjoyed watching Mallory dog paddle. To give her credit, she did put her face into the water several times and laid back too kick and flail her arms. I was really proud at how independent she was. She was so happy to float around.
Lealane, we can't wait to go swimming. Is your pool nearly ready?

My 2 Nieces
These nieces, Kirsten and Cadee are playing t-ball this year. They had their first game yesterday. I forgot to ask Kris how it went but I think I read on Russ's facebook page that Kirsten did well and that cadee enjoyed a snow cone.=)

Anna's Believe It or Not
Everyone knows how frugal I am, right? I am always looking for ways to save money and of course I look while on vacation. As we were walking through the downtown area, we came across a new restaurant called "The Fresh Catch." If you can catch your meal, you eat for free. Since my knee has been bothering me, it was up to Daniel to catch our dinner. I am proud to say that my husband has not lost his fast feet!!

St. Augustine: Day 2

Once again, the day started early. Mallory and I went to the hotel lobby for breakfast while Daniel stayed in bed. After Mallory coaxed him into getting up, we headed to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. In the second photo, Mallory is checking herself out in a mirror that makes you look taller. She was fascinated by this one but didn't like the one where she appeared very round.
We spent more time at the beach. Mallory loves everything about the beach. She loves running into the waves, waddling in the surf and she loves playing in the sand. After about 2 hours at the beach, we ate lunch and had "rest time."
After rest time, we headed to a nearby park. This park had a large playground and a carousel. Mallory really enjoyed it.
The day ended with a trip to Target, one of my favorite stores, and in the downtown historic district. That night we ate at a pizzeria. The food was really good but we still had room for a treat. We stopped at a candy store. Mallory chose clearanced Easter candy and I opted for a rock sucker.

St. Augustine: Day 1

These pictures are out of order, so bare with me. Our day started early, 6:33 am to be precise. Mallory was ready to hit the beach. Before we went to the beach, we went downtown. Our hotel was located in the center of the historic district. Therefore, we "hoofed" it a lot. In fact, that was our first activity. We strolled the brick roads and found a small cafe to have lunch. Note the picture of me and Mallory.
After we ate we eventually walked up to the fort. We spent a lot of time there. We enjoyed the artifacts but was scared we were going to loose Mallory. She loved the connecting rooms and would often run ahead of us.
The beach was cold!! However, that didn't stop Mal or other small swimmers. Mallory loves the beach and played until her lips turned purple. Daniel and I kept our coats on and avoided the water as much as possible.
At the end of the day, we were all very tired. We spent nearly 3 hours downtown and another 2 at the beach. Mallory couldn't even hold her eyes open on the way to the restaurant.

I Have Created a Monster!!

Yes, its true. As Daniel was putting my new car tag on, Mallory suggested that I take a picture. She said, "for your blog mommy." Of course she had to be in the picture!
In the picture, Mallory is holding my old tag. My new tag has my initials, AHT monogrammed onto it.
We are looking forward to our upcoming weekend. Mallory is more excited about staying in a hotel than she is about being at the beach. We will be leaving early Friday morning and returning Sunday evening. I may post something tomorrow night, if not check back on Sunday night!
ta ta for now! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hamilton Plans Change
We knew about 3 weeks ago that we would not be able to attend the Braves game that we had tickets for. The game is an afternoon game--not in the evening like we assumed. However, we were still planning on going to Atlanta.
Until today. Daniel said he would rather go to St. Augustine. I said, "okay." I am about to start looking for a hotel. I am really excited. I haven't been to St. Augustine since our last family vaca, nearly 4 years ago, I think....
I'll keep you posted. We are not going to leave until Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, depending on the cost of the hotel.

Easter Sunday

This is Mallory finding her basket. On Saturday night we talked about what the Easter bunny will put in her basket. However, she was more worried about how big he was and where in the house he would be going. In fact, late that night, when she crawled into our bed, she was still talking about him.
She seemed pleased with her treats. She received a new pair of sunglasses--for the beach. She also liked all of the candy and took it all out of her basket to survey. Every piece was taken out and placed on the table!
If there was a contest, I am sure Mallory would have won best dressed. She was so precious in this dress, new shoes, matching hair bow, and her accessories. Wouldn't you agree?
After church we went to Daniel's parents. We ate Easter ham and egg hunted for the last time. She hunted with her cousins Harlie and Braydden. Blake, our oldest nephew hid the eggs.
I am so glad that Easter is over. I have already put away all of the plastic eggs!

Easter with Nana and Pappy

Today Mallory and I did our usual girly Saturday morning routine. After a nap, yes, I insisted on us taking a nap, we went to Daniel's mom and step-dad's church. They were having a big Easter
party. They cooked hamburgers and hotdogs and had a big Easter egg hunt. Mallory and I made a strawberry shortcake (all from scratch, we even grew the strawberries) and spritz cookies.
Mallory loves to hunt eggs and out performed everyone, once again. She found the most eggs and received an award for this achievement.
In the fourth picture, Mallory is posing with her cousins, Blake and Harilie. Harilie found the most eggs in her age group too. The last picture is of the girls with their "prizes."
I will be so glad when Easter is over. Since I'm not running as much, I have put on a few pounds. I don't need the candy in the house. I'm sure everyone remembers how much I love to eat, especially candy, popcorn, and dessert!

Coloring Easter Eggs
Tonight we colored Easter eggs.
We did the usual method of food coloring and vinegar and I found some really cool paint markers. Mallory really liked the markers and the mess wasn't has bad as I had feared. Of course, Daniel and I flanked her so she really didn't have a chance.
Tomorrow we are going to another Easter party at her Nana and Pappy's church. Mallory will be wearing a new dress and new shoes for the occasion. Don't worry, I will have plenty of pictures!

Mallory's New Shoes

After going to every store in Waycross, I am proud to say that we FINALLY found some new white sandals. Sandals are nearly impossible to find for Mal. Her feet are long, skinny, narrow, and flat. These shoes won because they stay on her feet, her toes do not hang over, and she says they feel good. A winning combination!

Here Comes the Bride
Yes, thats right, my BFF, Krystial as announced her wedding date. It is May 17, 2009. Yes, May, as in NEXT month. They will be getting married on St. Simon's Island on Sunday evening. Mallory and I will be in the wedding party. I will be maid or matron of honor (whichever denotes my marital status) and Mallory will be the most beautiful flower girl ever!
Mom, I know it is on a Sunday but I really would like for you to be there. As you know, Daniel will have to go to work very early that morning. Also, will you start looking for an awesome flower girl dress? Krystial has chosen yellow as the color.

Anna' Recent Self Discovery
Since I have hurt my knee, I have been trying out different cardio workouts. For the past two weeks, I have combined inclined walking, spinning, and the elliptical. I still run about twice a week, just not as fast and furious!
Today, while Mallory was at church, I went to the YMCA to swim. I CANNOT swim anymore. After the first lap, I was ready to quit. I was seriously considering quiting at the 5 minute mark. Since I still had 15 minutes left of a full cardio session, I persevered. Luckily the lifeguard saw lightening and made everyone exit the pool. I lasted 12 minutes. I did not like the water in my ears nor did I like water getting into my mouth and nose. I also think that my form looked sloppy. I think I should get professional help. Krystial is due to return from maternity leave this week. If I do swim again, I will borrow her goggles and bring ear plugs. I will also spit out my gum.

Easter in Jamestown

Today we crashed an Easter party that was being held at a nearby church. The church, Jamestown Baptist, is up the road from our house. We invited Cadee and Kirsten to attend with us. We had so much fun and the girls were soooo cute in their matching dresses. The party included a bouncy house, a big slide, face painting, and chalk drawings.
The girls participated in every activity. We also had lunch, story time, and at the end there was an egg hunt. Mallory found the prize egg in her age group. She won a super soaker!

Swampfest '09

Swampfest is an annual event in Waycross. Basically, it is a time for vendors of junk to crowd the streets of downtown Waycross. Each vendor is fighting to be heard and begs for your money. Everything costs money, including the petting zoo, face painting, and of course the rides and food. I am proud to say that we walked away with only spending $8. Mallory enjoyed the swinging ride. She rode it twice and afterwards we lured her off by offering a treat.

Singing in the Rain

It is raining and has been raining. In fact, it has been raining so much that our local schools have been cancelled as well as Mallory's Easter field trip.
Our roads are soaked, drenched, and flooded. My agency has asked us not to travel and transport any consumers. At the bottom of this e-mail, there was one sentence in bold. It was: Naturally all employees are expected to report to work.
Here is a picture of Mallory that was taken yesterday. The caption: Mommy and daddy are already sick of Easter!
