Favorite Photo # 9

I know, she will KILL me when she is older. I love this picture. It just reminds me of very frustrating times and how much fun she had.

This potty played music whenever something was dropped into it. Of course, the goal was to encourage her to correctly use it but she kept throwing toys in it to hear the music!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

As most of you know, I have hurt my knee. As a result, I have reduced my running workouts and frequently use ice packs.

Last night, Mallory proclaimed, "my knee is killing me." These were her exact words. I told her that I thought she was fine. She begged me for an ice pack. I am a firm believer in picking your battles, especially with someone who will argue with you for a very long time. She grabbed a baggy and pulled a chair up to the freezer. She laid on the couch and after one second of the ice being on her knee, started complaining. She said, "its cold. It hurts."

Making Easter Cookies/Making a Huge Mess

Yesterday we made some Easter cookies, which are sugar cookies that we cut into Easter symbols. Each time we make these cookies Mallory does something different. This time, she used the rolling pin to flatten her cookie dough and then picked up the dough to put inside a cookie cutter. Next, she removed the cookie cutter and used a spatula to pick up the clump. She placed clump onto the cookie sheet.

I was in charge of spreading icing onto the cookies. She poured the sprinkles. She used nearly an entire bottle!

When I Came Home

Today I left work early. I had a 1:30 presentation time at an office that was near our home. When I finished, I went directly home. I arrived home at around 3:00. It was very peaceful. I immediately knew that they were asleep. Our house is NEVER this quiet!

I love seeing Mallory asleep. She hardly ever sleeps during the day anymore.

This Week

On Tuesday night we went to Krystial's, last night was gymnastics and tonight I had my hair done. I haven't been home very much this week. As a result, our house is a mess. It seems that I am the only who can:
1) wash dishes
2) wash clothes
3) put used dishes in the sink
4) cook
5) put dirty clothes in the hamper
6) put empty containers and wrappers into the trash can
7) keep our only child from playing with important papers from my files that I keep in a closet
8) sweep
9) mop
10) help Mal with her writing, sight words, and read to her

Seriously where would this world be without mothers????

Happy Birthday Krystial

Today is Krystial's birthday. We went to her birthday dinner that was held at her house, which is in the middle of no where. Although Krystial has a new son, motherhood hasn't slowed her down. The party was just getting started when we left at 8:00.

Today is also Russell's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Russell!

It just occurred to me that I did not acknowledge my own mother's birthday on this blog so here it goes:

To Mom from Her Pesky Kid
I really love my mother,
And it surely makes me proud,
To know I’m one of her pesky kids,
And to sing her praises loud.
My mother has a birthday,
Almost every year.
And on that day she’ll ponder life,
And even shed a tear.
See, Ma don’t like her birthdays;
She says they make her old,
But she’s as sharp as she ever was,
If the truth be told.
My mother showed me lots of things,
About the world, you see,
So then I could teach my pesky kids,
The things my mom taught me.
Thank goodness for you, mom. Where would I be without you?
Happy Birthday!

Fun at Chuck E. Cheese's

We arrived at mom's on Friday evening at around 7:30. Our arrival time was delayed due to a work thing. I was scheduled to give my third presentation on the this day at 1:00 but it was pushed back to 2:00.

Saturday morning, the girls couldn't wait to go to chuck E. Cheese's. First, we made a pit stop at the mall and then went over. They had a blast. Mallory actually rode rides this time. In fact, she wanted to "drive" everything.

The ball throwing activity, as usual, was a disaster. Mom and I were not fast enough with chasing balls. They were rolling behind the girls more than rolling up into the slots. At least Mallory didn't climb up to throw them in----again!

More pictures coming--I'm waiting for Kris to e-mail them.

p.s. I joined face book so if you are already a member, look me up. We can be friends.

The Tooth Fairy Comes

The tooth fairy brought Mallory $2 and per her request, 2 tootsie rolls. At first she was a little leery about checking under her pillow but when she saw her stash, she immediately grabbed it. After the excitement, she told me, "Mama, the tooth fairy came into my room."

I am signing off. Come again on Sunday night. Mallory and I are leaving Daniel behind to visit mom. If I remember my camera, I am sure I will have a lot of pictures to share.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Which Do You Like the Best???

I am very indecisive. Help me choose a new car tag. Remember my car is black. I want something girly and a tiny bit flashy.

Perfect Cousins

Happy St. Patrick's Day. In honor of this fab holiday, I am typing in green.

Today Daniel and I had a shock. Mallory lost a tooth!!! We didn't even know it was loose. It must have been very loose because it fell out while she was eating chips! Coincidentally, her cousin Kirsten, just lost a tooth too.

I would like to give a shout out to my friend Becky. Becky and I graduated high school together and we both went to Georgia Southern University, which is where ALL smart Georgia residents go. I want to welcome her to the world of blogging. Check out her new blog, "My Life." The link is posted on my side bar. She has two kids. A son who will be two soon and a daughter that is Mal's age.

Kirsten's Missing Tooth

Kirsten's loose tooth finally fell out on Friday. The tooth fairy brought her $5.00. The tooth fairy's cost of living raise is bigger than the one I got at work!

She also received a letter praising her for brushing so well!

Steve's Camera

Here are some pictures that Steve took with his camera. These pictures are a lot better than mine. He was nice enough to send them to me via cd through the mail.

In the dinning room photo, we celebrated mom's birthday at Captain Joe's.

Weekend News:
Not much to tell. Mallory and I didn't spend a lot of time together. On Saturday we did our usual "in town" routine. During the afternoon, we split up. Daniel took her to a birthday party while I went to a bridal shower.

After the birthday party, Daniel took her to her Nana's. She spent the night and I didn't see her again until Sunday. We ate Sunday dinner at Daniel's parents house. We came home and cleaned. The End! Sad isn't it? I have a Saturday night babysitter and didn't do anything. I didn't even eat cheese sticks!

Mallory's Front Roll

This morning Mallory was in a tumbling mood. She did a front roll, where she actually turns sideways, and a cart wheel. I decided to do one video per post. I will post the cartwheel soon.

The Classics: # 6 With Grandpa

I have no recollections of either one of these photos. I don't even recognize where they were taken. I do recognize myself, my sister, and my grandfather.

Tonight, as I was running on my treadmill, Mallory pulled out a "grown up" puzzle (from a nearby closet). I told her to put it back. She asked why. I said, "because it is Grandma Yeager's." She responded by saying, "she needs to come over here and get it." She made me promise to tell you, Grandma.

Hanging Up the Bird Feeder

This week Mallory dug out a bird feeder that she received at Christmas. It came with a book about birds. She begged us to take her to the Dollar Store to buy some "bird food." In the second picture, she is filling up her bird feeder. More specifically, she is getting bird seed all over my carpet. In the first picture, she is proudly displaying her hung feeder. The tree she chose to hang it in, is a nesting place for a family of mockingbirds. She wanted to help the mama bird find food for her babies.

My Visitors

Today, while slaving away in my office, I received 2 pleasant (for a change) visitors. Krystial and her new son, Bryce came.

Bryce, like all of my nieces and nephews, already loves me. As soon as I picked him up, he cuddled right into me and fell asleep. He is so cute!!!!!

Don't even think it, Lealane. I don't want to hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, they stayed for about 20 minutes. As you can tell from the last picture, Bryce got mad when Krystial said it was time to go.

Picture Perfect

Here are a few shots that I snapped before my camera died. These pictures were taken as mom was dressing Little Danny. We were so worried that the girls would get dirty. I ordered them to "put their backs on the wall."

I love these dresses! They looked great on all of the girls.

Once Upon a Time

There were 4 princesses and one dragon. They were all active and loved playing with their Grandma at their favorite aunt's house. Luckily their aunt Anna is a totally awesome person who didn't mind her house being dirty (or having her chocolate chip cookies eaten).
As you can see, mom visited. She brought everyone new princess dresses. She even brought extras so everyone had a variety to choose from. Kirsten had a favorite, which was the blue one but the others seemed happy with any of them. Lttle Danny received a dragon costume. He was sooooooo cute. The pictures didn't capture his growling sounds but they added to the moment.

Everyone had pictures made at Sears. Here is the link.

Getting Ready

It has been a busy few days. Last night Mallory had gymnastics and I went to spin class. We didn't get home until 7. By then we were tired, dirty, and starving. I ate a salad with light Italian dressing and Mal had chicken nuggets. For dessert, we decided to actually cook our cookie dough (we prefer it raw). I am ashamed to say that I ate nearly 7 cookies! They were really good=)

Tonight I had several errands to run. When I did get home, Mal and I baked a chocolate cake for Grandma. We also made cheesecake brownies.

Tomorrow at work, my supervisor and me, will be giving a presentation. We will be presenting to a neighboring county's service center. It will be our first of 5 presentations this month. I haven't done any public speaking in over a year so I am a little nervous. At least I am familiar with the material and it will be a short lecture.

Cleaning the Playroom

Here is proof that I have "thinned" out Mallory's toys. I emphasized the word "proof" because the toy room is still full!! Can you believe that one child has all of this stuff?

Most of these toys will be going to a church friend.

We were motivated to clean the play room because mom is coming this weekend. I am hoping the kids won't make a big mess. We'll see.

I am glad to report that Mal is feeling better. She is not completely well but well enough to "help" cook and clean. She is such a big helper!

Staying Warm

By south Georgia standards, it has been COLD. Tonight Mallory quickly dressed after her bath. As you can see, she needed her robe and her favorite hood (made by her great grandma Yeager).

I was sick last week and now it is Mallory's turn. She has a terrible cough and today has suffered from nasal congestion.

Mallory Goes to Church

This morning, Mallory went to church with Daniel's mom and step dad. She wore this very cute dress that was given to her by her Grandma.

Last night we had very bad weather. The lightening and thunder got scary. Afterward, it got really cold. Therefore, Mallory was forced to wear her stockings and a "church"sweater. The sweater is long and covers her entire dress.

Is it just me or do the weekends really fly by? I'm still tired from work on Friday and now it seems like we have to get ready for another work day.
