I just finished reading Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich. It was fairly good, not as good as her early stuff but definitely worth reading. As usual, it had some really funny parts but the ending wasn't as thrilling as the others. In fact, that was the part that disappointed me.

It's Official
I have left my small locally owned gym, Energy Fitness, to be with my two best friends at the YMCA. I had my first workout there yesterday and I think I will be able to adapt. Or at least, I hope so since membership is higher.
I really had to leave. Energy Fitness converted to a "fitness group" which now specializes in personal training. Each personal training session is $40. I can't afford it and I don't need it.
On the bright side, this change can do me some good. I am going to use this time as an opportunity to re-design my workouts. I have decided to focus more on cardio and less on weights.

Mallory Wins!!!
This morning Mallory and I went to the Chic-fil-a customer appreciation event. They had one big bouncer, a bouncer obstacle course, and a bouncer slide. She loved all three. I thought she looked like a football player running through the obstacle course.
While she was playing, I registered her for a drawing for a free birthday party. She won!! The party will include free meals and ice cream for 10 kids. Mallory was so busy playing that she didn't even hear her name announced over the loud speaker. They only called her name 100 times.

Now I have two friends getting married. Can life get any better?
Becky, I will definitely help with the shower!!

Beach Fun Rescheduled
Since Mallory was sick yesterday afternoon, last night, and this morning, we had to cancel our beach plans with Krystial. Mallory was disappointed but I told her we would try to go next weekend. This is how sick Mallory was: she took a 3 hour nap!!! This is extremely long for her. She barely naps at all and when she does, its for 30-45 minutes.

Mallory Is Sick
Yes, its true, my overly active four year old is laying around. She has been vomiting and has had diarrhea. No one is having any fun, especially Daniel since the diarrhea started while she was in the video store with him (alone).

The Small Details of My Life
I just finished reading Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich. It was fairly good, I have read better from this author. However, it did have some funny parts toward the end. I even laughed out loud a couple of times.
I bought some "garden fresh" squash today from a road side stand. Grandma, does this make you think about about one specific memory???
My agency will be going through an audit next week. Pray for us, specifically, me and my charts. I feel confident but you never know.
Still no camera. I spent my extra money on Father's day gifts but I will be getting one soon. I can't stand not being able to take pictures.

Happy Father's Day
When asked what she wanted to get her daddy for Father's Day, Mallory said, " A new truck". We compromised and got Daniel some new shirts from Wal-Mart.
This morning, Daniel slept late and I got up with Mallory. First we baked brownies for Papa Sammy. I asked her if she wanted to have a lick and she said no because we couldn't eat Papa's brownies. However, when I turned my back she helped herself. There was chocolate everywhere and we had to change her clothes and scrub her mouth and hands!!
For Daniel, we cooked home made biscuits. When I got the biscuit cutter out, Mallory got out the cookie cutters. Whatever, we had funny shaped biscuits!!
Mallory went to church with Daniel and his parents. She had a good time but as soon as she came home, she ran up to me and said she was ready to go to Papa Sammy's. We gave daddy a gift card from Wal-Mart, brownies and ice cream. I think he had a good day too.

Mallory's new saying
Last night, I asked Mallory if she wanted some chocolate sauce on her ice cream and she said, "thats what I'm talking about".
She has said this saying two more times since then. Not sure where she picked it up at. Certainly not from me.

Mallory's Day
Today did not start off well. Mallory didn't want to get up but I reminded her that she was going on a field trip so that helped. The field trip was to see a movie at our local cinema. First thing, Mallory overheard me tell Daniel that she needed $2 for popcorn and a coke. I didn't have any cash, as usual, so I told her I would first take her to school, get some money and then bring it back to her. This was not good enough for her. She was so upset. She kept saying she needed popcorn and coke and had to have money now.
As it turns out, Mallory was not her usual sweet and innocent self. First let me just tell you what was written on her daily report, which was "Mallory was not a very good listener on our field trip to the movie theater today." Can you believe this??? Wait, it gets worse. The teacher told Daniel that after she ate her popcorn she flipped her shoes off (high in the air) and continually kept trying to stand in her chair, I guess this is what was meant by not being a good listener.
Mallory's class is scheduled to go back to the movies next week. However, the school's field trip rules and policies were also home.

Just Finished
Just finished reading the new Nancy Martin book. Mom, you are going to LOVE it. It was one of her best books.
Other books that I want to read:
Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich
Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich
Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella
Queen of Babble Gets Hitched by Meg Cabot
I have also copied a link that offers great summer reading suggestions. It's in my favorite web site section. I copied it from the Okefenokee Book Club's blog. Did you notice, Mrs. Janice???
p.s. I found the missing bathing suit. It was behind our bed. I vaguely remember Mallory throwing it there.

Vacation Plans Announced!!!
Clearwater Beach, watch out we're coming!!!!! We will be spending a long weekend in Clearwater in July.
We will also be going to Atlanta on July 3 because we have Braves tickets. I hope to spend a few extra days there but nothing has been confirmed. I would really like to go to Stone Mountain, the Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta.
My plan is for us to take a few weekend trips during the summer and go back to Disney in the fall. Keep your fingers crossed.

Fun Reading
Just finished another book by Meg Cabot. I have already listed it in my "recently read books" side bar. I really enjoy Meg Cabot. She is becoming one of my favorite authors, I am ranking her with Janet Evanovich and Sophie Kinsella.
For more reading suggestions, check out the link to the Okefenokee Book Club. If you have suggestions, list them.

The Last Night of Swim Lessons

On the last night of swim lessons, each child received a certificate and a free t-shirt. The second picture shows Mallory getting her award and t-shirt. On her way to accept her award, she stepped in every nearby puddle of water, going out of her way twice. It was so funny. Daniel and I were not sitting together. He was standing by the door, getting ready to make a quick getaway, no doubt. I noticed him shaking his head as Mallory was doing this.
We went to swim lessons two nights a week for 4 weeks. During the last week, we misplaced a bathing suit. Still looking for it.
Just want to say thank you Aunt Krystial for letting Mallory take lessons. You know how much she loves them. She has already asked when we were going back.

p.s. I was able to take pictures of this great event because Krystial let me borrow her camera. I really need to get a new camera.

Happy Birthday Cadee!!!!

Happy Birthday Cadee!! These pictures were taken at her birthday party that was held over the weekend. The theme was Ariel. This was a good party because Russell grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and Kristy had chips, dip and cake and ice cream so there was plenty to eat.
All of the family was there. Including Grandma and Grandpa Brown, Papa Sammy, and all of the cousins, aunts and uncles. I think Cadee had a great time and she received some awsome gifts.

Fun with Grandma

Grandma came this weekend and the kids had a great time. First we went to Chick-fil-a. We ate breakfast, played and after two hours, went home. We ate donuts, grilled cheese sandwiches, and applesauce for lunch and then we went to Kristy's for a birthday celebration. Pictured here are the kids eating hot dogs and chips. Afterwards cake and ice cream were served.

Busy Weekend but I love Sundays and Holidays!!!
It is a tradition for me and Mallory to go to breakfast every Saturday. We didn't eat out this time but we went to two bakeries. We were searching for a green cupcake. The first bakery didn't have any cupcakes so naturally we went on to the second. They had cupcakes but not green ones. Mallory settled for a white one. She cried all the way home because she was ready to eat it. When we got home and I gave it to her, guess how much she ate!! At most, one bite.
Later that day we baked some cookies for my dad. This means we placed cookies on the cookie sheet. Actually Mallory put them on the cookie sheet and then placed them in the oven. We took them to my dad's that evening and on the way, Mallory called Papa Sammy a pig because he loves our cookies. I was a little surprised because the last time we took cookies over there, she ate the most!!!
On Sunday, my day, I went to the beach. I was shocked at how busy it was but Krystial and I still managed to find each other. We stayed all afternoon and talked about wedding details, since I am an expert.
On Monday, we picked up Sam, dad's youngest son, and met the Raulersons at the public park. I brought snacks and Kris brought juice boxes. Fun was had by all. Mallory desperately wanted to do the monkey bars but wasn't tall enough--like Kirsten and Sam. I ended up holding her while she reached for the bars.
Tonight, Daniel grilled shrimp, steak, and a hot dog. I made potato salad and stewed squash. It was delicious.
It was such a long day that Mallory fell asleep at 7:45.

Bad News
Just heard about my camera. It will cost $116.00 to repair. Right now I am leaning toward getting a new camera. I guess I will be comparison shopping this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than not letting Mallory near my next camera??
Other than the camera news, nothing much going on here. I guess it has been a slow week.

Big News!!
Mallory did it!!! She jumped in the water. At first, she was shocked that Ms. Lindsay, her instructor, allowed her to go completely under but once she saw me and Aunt Krystial cheering she did it some more. I would show you pictures but as you know Mallory dropped my camera and it broke. This is a HUGE improvement because during the first week of lessons she refused to get her hair wet. In fact, she told Ms. Lindsay that I told her she couldn't get her hair bows wet.
More big news: On Saturday, Krystial called. Sam has FINALLY proposed!! Krystial is getting married!!! A date has not been set but Mallory and me have already been asked to be wedding attendants!! I am so excited. I hope she picks out matching dresses for us. Can you imagine anything cuter?????

New Web Link
I added a new link to my favorite fitness website list. Its the link to the USDA Food Pyramid Guide. I think you should check it out. So far, it's resources and tools have been very accurate. For example, I have been inputting my daily food intake. The website analyzes it and tells me how I am doing with each food group. As a result, I have discovered that I am not getting enough vegetables and dairy products. It suggested I drink fat free or skim milk with breakfast and add a vegetable for lunch. However, it is confusing. I am getting enough grains but my carbs are too high. Not sure what to do about that. Anyone have any suggestions?
Went to the beach today with some friends from work. The weather was beautiful and I was able to sunbathe without distraction (no Mallory to chase).
I haven't heard anything about my camera but I plan to call tomorrow. They should have received it by now.

We Paid For It and It's Ours!!
We are now the proud owners of a 2002 Mazda Tribute. Daniel went to the bank and made our last payment yesterday. I would display a picture of the truck but Mallory dropped my camera.
Speaking of the camera, I mailed it off today. The repair service said that it would cost between 40 and $100. I will get my free estimate and then decide what to do.

Mallory Goes Down
Daniel's parents' church held a youth rally on Saturday. Mallory attended because she loves the big bouncers. As you can see, she got stuck in it. Someone, since Daniel was taking pictures, had to pull her out. She didn't get mad or scared. On the contrary, she thought it was funny. In fact, when she came home, she told me all about it!!
It is hard to see her face but her arms and legs can be easily spotted.

I Thought This Was Funny
You're Really A Mom When...
| |
- You count the number of sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make sure they are equal.
- You want to take out a contract on the kid who broke your child's favorite toy and made him/her cry.
- You have time to shave only one leg at a time.
- You hide in the bathroom to be alone.
- Your child throws up and you catch it.
- Someone else's kid throws up at a party and you keep eating.
- You consider finger paint to be a controlled substance.
- You mastered the art of placing food on a plate without anything touching.
- Your child insists that you read "Once upon a Potty" out loud in the lobby of the doctor's office and you do it.
- You hire a baby sitter because you haven't been out with your husband in ages, then you spend half the night talking about and checking on the kids.
- You hope ketchup is a vegetable because it's the only one your child eats.
- You find yourself cutting your husband's sandwiches into unusual shapes.
- You fast-forward through the scene when the hunter shoots Bambi's mother.
- You obsess when your child clings to you upon parting during his first month at school, then you obsess when he skips in without looking back.
- You can't bear to give away baby clothes--it's so final.
- You hear your mother's voice coming out of your mouth when you say, "Not in your good clothes."
- You stop criticizing the way your mother raised you.
- You read that the average-five-year old asks 437 questions a day and feel proud that your kid is "above average."

Happy Mother's Day To Me!!!
Well my day started good. I got to sleep in, which is something I NEVER get to do. As soon as I awoke, Mallory gave me a gift basket that Daniel said she picked out. It had a big butterfly on it and it was filled with candy. She also selected two cards, one with a butterfly and one with Mickey Mouse. She wrote her name in each.
Daniel and Mallory went to church with Daniel's family. I took a picture of her in a new dress but guess what?? Right after Daniel took our mother-daughter pictures, I let Mallory take one picture. Can you guess what happened next?? If you said she dropped my $250 digital camera and that it broke, you would be correct. The camera's lenses is lopsided. I cannot take anymore pictures and I can't retrieve any pictures.
In honor of Mother's Day, I decided to cook my favorite meal. I even splurged and cooked white rice. This event turned into a memory when Mallory dropped the bowl of peas. She was carrying them to the table. I am sure you can envision the mess.
I really had a good day today and I talked to my mom about an hour ago and she is having a good day. She also reported that my grandparents are doing well and that they regularly read this blog!! Therefore, all is well in my world!
I will be calling my camera company tomorrow to inquire about repairing it. I may get a new camera, just depends on what they say. Keep reading to stay posted on this very important and interesting topic!!!
